BPC-157, TB-500 and the 20 mg Blend: Specifications Compared

For in vitro laboratory research use only. This post compares specifications only; not effects or suitability for any purpose.

Peptix supplies three research materials built around two peptides: BPC-157, TB-500 (identified by LC-MS as thymosin beta-4), and a pre-mixed blend containing both. This page puts their specifications side by side: sequence length, reference chemical data, labeled amount, form, storage and the current lot certificate.

Sequence length and mass

BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid synthetic peptide. Thymosin beta-4 is 43 amino acids long and belongs to the beta-thymosin family of small, acidic peptides. At about 5 kDa, thymosin beta-4 is roughly three and a half times the mass of BPC-157 (about 4,963 versus 1,419.5 g/mol). That difference is why LC-MS identifies the two peptides at very different masses, including when both are present in the blend.

Labeled amount versus measured net content

The labeled amount is what the product label states: 10 mg per vial for each single product, and 10 mg + 10 mg for the blend. The measured net content is the amount the lab measured in the tested vial, as printed on the certificate. It can differ from the labeled amount stated on the product label. For the current lots, the measured figures are higher than the labeled amounts.

A certificate reports results for the sample tested. It is not a guarantee for other lots.

Form and storage

All three materials are supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Store lyophilized material in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture; refrigeration (about 4 °C) is recommended. Handling is the responsibility of the qualified research facility. Our guide to storing lyophilized research peptides covers storage records in more detail.

The blend

The BPC-157 / TB-500 20 mg product is a pre-mixed lyophilized research material containing both peptides, labeled BPC-157 10 mg and TB-500 10 mg per vial. Its certificate reports a single HPLC-UV purity figure for the lot and identifies both BPC-157 and thymosin beta-4 by LC-MS, with a measured net content for each. Peptix makes no claims about the effects of this material.

Pack sizes

Each product is also available as a pack of 5. The 5-packs are currently supplied from the same lots listed above as the single vials. Lots change over time.

Lot certificates

Each lot has a third-party certificate on our peptide COA lookup page, with a search code you can check on the testing lab’s website.
